Although Spring weather tended to be an extension of the Winter months, we have enjoyed some balmy temps and sunshine this Summer. Unlike the fluctuating seasons, the Halifax real estate market has remained hot all year! Much like the temps though, you can definitely feel the change in the market too. Lower overall activity and declining stats, the acceptance of the peak season ending has taken hold. Not for sellers though! New listings had a slow start to the year, but in a new trend, it seems that the end of the Summer season has brought out the listings! Buyer activity has dropped though, and even this week showed signs of the changing times with a posting of 149 properties that received and accepted offers. Down 35 in just one week. This could just be an anomaly though, The stats have been indicating their usual trend week over week, but then things change and reverse course. It has certainly been an interesting year so far, and there are those welcoming the balanced market, others that are frustrated by it, and those that still think we are in a Buyers market.
