Things are heating up in Halifax, with listings starting to stream to the market, and hungry buyers gobbling up the new selections! First time all year we have seen an inventory addition of over 300 properties, and one of the biggest weeks for sales as well. The softening of sale price seems to have halted, as we have seen steady gains week over week since the begging of the year. Some weeks have had slight dips in their list/selling prices, however, values have continued to push higher each week, including the single family home six month median prices which has taken the largest increase. We haven't seen value gains this fast since the pandemic market, so the hope is that seasonal trend is lending a bit of a unique growth environment at the moment and we will see some cooling in the future. Other than the usual Spring blitz, many of the other statistics remain a bit sleepy, which will definitely change in the coming weeks as they are defined to be influenced by the current activity.
