A week after a historic wildfire devastated Halifax, the market seems to be unaffected by the event, however, there is no doubt that this will have a big impact in the coming months and likely years. Not only has it knocked out 150+ homes that will need immediate rebuild, many of the other homes not completely destroyed are now in limbo as they wait for assessment and restoration. Still a long way to go on rebuild of these neighbourhoods, and below are some links on how you can help! Bank of Canada raised it prime rate 25 basis points yesterday, in a surprise announcement to curb inflation that has once again reared its head. This also marks a 22-year high of the target policy rate to 4.75%, but if you think that is where it ends, unfortunately it seems there is at least another 25 basis points on the way in July. Overall, availability in the city remains relatively unchanged in the last month. Thanks to builders products continuing to hit the market, there seems to be some listings sticking around to create a buffer of options, above the $700,000 price mark anyways. Competition remains fierce out there still, but it does seem as though things are starting to slow down a bit in several areas. With interest rates and prices back on the rise, coupled with rather large gaps in inventory in certain price points and areas, the question of affordability becomes a reality once again with purchase discussion. With the unexpected Spring market coming to an end, all eyes train on Summer, where the key focus will hopefully be recovery. I came into care because my family dynamics changed. I have been decompressing in my foster home for the last 2 weeks and I'm now ready to start searching for my forever home. I am currently fostered with cats and dogs and I love them all. I am a party animal at heart and like to go, go, go. I don’t really know how to stop playing so sometimes I become annoying to my canine friends. I am pretty chill when I'm the only pupper home so could definitely be fine if I'm in an only pet home. I am fed separately from my other animal friends because I can be a bit aggressive with them when it comes to food. Although I'm good with cats, I don't think a cat only home is ideal for me since I like to play nonstop. I lived with various aged children in my previous home with no issues. I've taken a few car rides and I love it. I am an amazing escape artist. If there's a way, I will find it. Not even a fully fenced dog park could keep me in...I found that little hole, hehe. If garbage is not secure, I will get into it. I do have some separation anxiety that I'm working on so I'd prefer a household with my people around more often than not. Crates are a big no for this fella, they upset me alot. I am working on housetraining. When I'm outside to do my business, my nose is just too busy and sometimes I forget to go. I prefer to sleep near you but not with you. I walk very well on a leash and take my time to sniff everything. I do need to be on leash at all times or I will be gone in a flash. I don't have much interest in toys but I have alot of fur foster siblings to keep me busy. I am not picky with food, I love it all, especially treats. I am a very smart and very sweet boy. I love all people and animals that I've met. I do need a few wrinkles ironed out to be the bestest boy I can be. Would you like to help me with that? Let my rescuers know!! My adoption fee is a $500 donation to the rescue to help save more dogs like me. I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, come with a 6-week trial of pet insurance from PetSecure and have all my doggy papers to come home to you!
